Jai Opetaia will mount the latest defence of his IBF cruiserweight title in front of a home crowd when he meets David Nyika in a Trans-Tasman encounter this January.
The Central Coast fighter will fly the flag for Australian boxing against the unbeaten New Zealander, who has stepped in at short notice to replace the injured Huseyin Cinkara.
It marks a glorious opportunity for the Tokyo 2020 bronze medalist, with both men unbeaten – but the latter will hope victory can push him onwards to bigger fish in 2025.
